Phase 3
(Use of Space And Type Size)
You must use the light or bold weight versions of your chosen typeface only for this exercise. * You can vary the weight, half studies at light weight, half at bold weight. But all are two sizes, one weight in each design (sizes restrictions: 7,9,12,14,18,24,30, 36pt)
Phase 4
Any Single Point Size (Light, Roman, Bold, Italic)
You must use the Light, Roman, Bold, and Italic of the typeface You can vary the point size per study, but in each study all are one point size. Allowed: reg, reg italic, light, light italic, bold, bold italic,. (sizes restrictions: 7,9,12,14,18,24,30, 36)
Phase 5
Any Size/Weights + Italic Using Rules/Lines
Any size combination per study. You can vary the point size and weights per study, Maximum of 3 point sizes per study. Allowed: reg, reg italic, light, light italic, bold, bold italic, . Extended and Condensed allowed for this phase. (sizes restrictions: 7,9,12,14,18,24,30, 36, 48, 72)
Phase 6
Any Size/Weights Using Reversed Out Type Blocks + Shape.
Any size combination per study. You must use the entire family of the typeface (*except condensed or extended) you are allowed to use regular or book, italic, light, light italic, bold, bold italic,. Maximum of 3 point sizes per study. (sizes restrictions: 7,9,12,14,18,24,30, 36, 48, 72)
Phase 7
Adding Color (One color + Black)
All studies must use one color + black, you may use all values of the chosen color.
Any size combination per study. You must use the entire family of the typeface (*except condensed or extended) you are allowed to use reg, italic, light, light italic, bold, bold italic, (sizes restrictions: 7,9,12,14,18,24,30, 36, 48, 72).
Phase 8
Experimental/Expressive - Images In Color.
Use internet, Collage, photocopy, 3D type, etc. Any size combination and weight per study. You must use the entire family of the typeface (*except condensed or extended) you are allowed to use reg, italic, light, light italic, bold, bold italic.
